Spanish Urban Agenda

The project was developed in collaboration with EuroVértice, a consultancy firm specialising in urban development, sustainability and strategies linked to the Urban Agenda. For the Spanish Urban Agenda 2024, the aim was to accompany a complex strategic document with a series of illustrations set against a calendar, capable of communicating clearly and accessibly the principles that define the future of our cities: spaces that are more welcoming, sustainable and people-centred.
Making the complex understandable
The challenge was to translate technical and strategic concepts into accessible visual language that could be understood by users of all backgrounds. We did not seek to illustrate ‘what it is’, but rather what it means. The Urban Agenda addresses multiple dimensions — the environment, mobility, society and governance — so it was necessary to summarise this information without losing depth. Furthermore, the illustrations had to be integrated into a calendar format, providing narrative coherence throughout the year and maintaining a consistent visual identity.
A visual guide to understanding the city
The solution takes the form of a series of illustrations that transform abstract ideas into clear, recognisable and human scenes. Using simple, contemporary visual language, each piece depicts key aspects of urban life, reinforcing the message of building more liveable and sustainable cities. When applied to the calendar, the illustrations create a visual journey that accompanies the user throughout the year, transforming a strategic document into an informative, accessible tool that aligns with the values of the Urban Agenda.
